The UCLA Music Performance, Education, and Composition Department in the Herb Alpert School of Music invitesapplications for a tenured or tenure-track professorial position, starting the 2026-27 academic year. A minimum of a Master's degree inviolin performance or five years of equivalent professional experience is required; however, a DMA degree or five years of equivalentprofessional experience teaching in higher education, and maintaining a significant international performance and discography profile ispreferred. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2026.

The Music Performance, Education, and Composition Department is seeking a distinguishedindividual with an international reputation in both performance and teaching, comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of repertoire, as wellas demonstrated initiative in innovative projects. We seek someone who will contribute positively to our collaborative environment andmentor the next generation of performing artists and music educators. Duties include but are not limited to: teaching a studio ofundergraduate and graduate violin majors, music education majors, coaching chamber music, sharing governing responsibilities in the stringarea, chairing and overseeing DMA violin student dissertations, serving on other DMA dissertation committees, collaborating withinstrumental, vocal, and composition faculty; and contributing to departmental/university service.
