Music Director
Job Summary:
Trinity Lutheran School is looking for a qualified candidate to lead as our choir & music director. This person is in charge of General Music Education for preschool through 8th grade students. They also will lead a 3/4th grade choir and a 5-8th grade choir. They also help the co-lead the Christmas Program and Spring Program.
Duties:
- Develop and execute musical programs in line with the organization's vision and goals
- Conduct rehearsals, lead performances, and provide musical direction to musicians
- Collaborate with other artistic staff to ensure cohesive and high-quality productions
- Select appropriate music pieces for performances and auditions
- Mentor and educate musicians to enhance their skills and performance abilities
- Communicate effectively with musicians, staff, and stakeholders to coordinate musical activities
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Music Director or similar role in a professional or educational setting
- Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire musicians towards artistic excellence
- Ability to mentor, educate, and develop musicians of varying skill levels
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey musical concepts and ideas
- Passion for music and a deep understanding of musical theory and performance techniques
Skills:
- Leadership skills within a classroom setting
- Mentoring abilities to support the growth of musicians under your direction
- Educational background in music or related field to provide valuable insights
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members
