Job Overview
Male vocalist/percussionist in South Hadley, MA is looking for an accompanist (guitar and vocals) who wants to make a difference. This is a golden “weekday” opportunity for the right person; work in a duo three days a week (currently W-Fri 10:00-3:00+). Alternative scheduling (but must be weekdays) may be possible.
The current duo, the Ben & Ed Show (https://edlymusic.com/ben/) has been together 7+ years (Ed is retiring), and has well-established repertoire and performance schedule at senior centers, assisted living communities and day programs for adults with special challenges throughout the Pioneer Valley and beyond.
Musicianship Requirements:
· Read traditional music notation as well as chord charts and lead sheets.
· Ability to transpose easily and play in all keys
· Be comfortable with styles including Great American Songbook, pop, rock, folk, etc. from at least the ’40s to ’70s
Logistical requirements:
· Reliable transportation; willing and able to drive to and from gigs
· Handle equipment set up and break down
· Partner with vocalist for gig development, rehearsal & performances
· Experience finding and booking performances, as well as invoicing and follow-up
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
